Kahu Memorial Glass
My heart is in your paws 🐾
Kahu is a Hawaiian word for guardian. When my dog Rosie passed, I wanted to keep a little of her close, so I melted a pinch of her ashes into a fused glass paw and hung it beside a brass bone I stamped with the names of all four of my dogs. That first paw became Kahu Memorial Glass.
I make each memorial piece by hand in my Massachusetts studio, one pet at a time. A small amount of your pet's ashes is fused into the glass, where it rests as soft specks and tiny bubbles caught in the light. No two pieces come out the same.
Choose a piece
Paw • Bead • Marble • Flower
Different colors and custom designs are always welcome, especially for beads. Tell me the colors that remind you of your pet, and we'll make it theirs. If you have fur rather than ashes, ask me about a fur bubble bead or a small sealed glass vial.
How it works
1. Write to me using the form below. Nothing is made until we've agreed on the piece and price.
2. I'll reply with simple instructions. About 1/4 teaspoon of ashes per piece is all I need, mailed by USPS Priority Mail Express in the free Cremated Remains box.
3. I make your piece in about 2 weeks and send you a photo before it ships. Any leftover ashes come back with your piece.
